Meta: unavailable at source
There was a source, but it no longer works.
There may be several reasons for this.
- Site is down or no longer active.
- Source is incorrectly formatted or may use an outdated image format.
- The original artwork has been deleted or moved.
Updating Sources:
Broken source links should be replaced with existing working sources if they exist. The image may have been uploaded to other sites.
Images with broken sources should always have the source request tag until a new source is discovered.
How to find sources?
See: howto:source
- Run a reverse search of the image. e621 has provided several tools on the side panel of the post to make this process easier.
- Check the artist's wiki page to see additional known sources for that artist. A browser search of the artist's name may also reveal sources.
- Deleted artwork may also have been uploaded by character owners or the commissioner of the artwork. Sources may be found in commissioner galleries.
Be aware that many image galleries allow users to store images in multiple collections or folders. Scraps is a common name for a collection that is not part of the main gallery.
Outdated Site Links: (Incomplete)
Link formats may change over time resulting in broken sources on older images. Older formatted links should be updated with the latest image format for that site.
- DeviantArt - Image format has changed, but will redirect to current format.
- Fur Affinity - Old Direct image link formats: d.furaffinity.net, data.furaffinity.net Image may still exist at the source with a different format.
- Pixiv - Direct image links do not work as sources. Image may still exist at the source with a different format.
- Tumblr - Direct image links may still work even if the original submission page has been deleted.
