An antagonist from the Kirby series, King Dedede's a gluttonous, penguin-like creature who lords over Dream Land. Nobody (besides the Waddle Dees) really respects his rule, though, as his title is entirely self-proclaimed. He's powerful in his own right but has a tendency to get possessed by beings more powerful than him and often needs to be rescued by his frenemies.

Anime

King Dedede in the anime is drastically different from how he is in the games. He is shown to be far more malicious with an almost non-existent good side. Most notably by wearing the "dictator" descriptor with pride, and wanting to get rid of Kirby because his people like them far more than him.
