Also known as a slingshot, suspender bikini, or suspender thong; Sling bikinis are a type of one-piece swimsuit that provides as much coverage (or in some cases, even less) as an average bikini. Typically, a sling bikini has a small piece of fabric covering the groin and a set of straps that go from groin to shoulder, stretching over the breasts and concealing the nipples.

Conservative variations of sling bikinis may cover a fair amount of skin: some featuring a wide band across the breasts, or straps around the sides to hold the bands in place. Less conservative versions consist of "three postage stamps and two pieces of dental floss."
