Description

Once again, we take a look at an alternate timeline of The Lands. Mazeri Lantagne, is an innocent, rather shy fruit bat. That much is obvious as soon as one meets her. She's somewhat hesitant to open up to people outside her immediate vicinity, surely in part due to her introverted personality. She works as an innkeeper in the Royal Province of Reiyon, and her only family is her brother, a soldier in the Moonlight Legion. Needless to say, she doesn't get to see him much, nor anyone else for that matter outside of work. She bides her time by writing, as a matter of fact. Mazeri mainly keeps to herself and her work on her secret novel, titled "For An Aching Soul", more on that momentarily. The girl was undoubtedly quite lonely, but she never made it known to others. In a way, novel writing was her escape from normal life. After her work as an innkeeper, she frequently visited the local tavern for a quick meal and drink. Even there, when surrounded by friendly folks, she secluded herself, always sitting at the same spot every evening. The staff were friendly to her as one of the regulars, but one man in particular took a deeper interest in the adorable fruit bat. His name was Malkonovsky von Teknika.

Malkonovsky, or Mal for short, was a foreigner from Oziris, the Eastern City. He was a tall, well-composed black jackal who wore his long, brown hair in a ponytail. His eyes were a clear, ruby red and his culinary skills were quite the boon. Mal was always kind to Mazeri, occasionally adding to her orders on the house since she was a regular. She was courteous back to him, but even still she didn't talk much. Mal was curious about her quiet personality, and he noticed her often writing in a book by her lonesome. He figured that she may be writing a journal or even a story, but he respected her privacy. One evening, he noticed her once again by herself, away from her usual table. Mal decided that enough was enough and that he should reach out to her and try to make friends. He sat with her and asked how her day had been, as it looked like something was bothering her. She was even less talkative than usual and appeared exhausted. Mal was raised with manners and respect, so he naturally showed that same respect to the nice lady in front of him. She was hesitant to answer his question at first, but she eventually told him that her day hadn't been the greatest. Mal tried to cheer her up some, telling her that she was here now in a place to relax. She thanked him, but still wouldn't budge. He pushed a little further, saying that he didn't like to see her sad like this, managing to get a little bit of a smile out of her. Mazeri told him not to worry about her, but Mal felt sorry for the girl. He always looked forward to seeing her at the tavern everyday, even if she didn't talk to him that much. Eventually, he got the full truth out of her, and it was much more disheartening than he could have expected.

The truth was that Mazeri felt lonely for quite a long while, but she never knew how to deal with it. She had few friends due to her reclusive nature, with Mal being the only one to ever take a genuine interest in talking to her. As a result, she made her trips to the tavern a nightly endeavor in the hopes that he would be there. She thought that he was a sweet man and it always made her feel a little bit better on downtrodden days. Mazeri blushed, pulling her hat over her eyes in embarrassment that she hadn't been upfront about it sooner. It tugged at Mal's heartstrings, thus he maintained his gentle tone while talking to her, telling her that she need not feel ashamed in any way. Mazeri, out of sheer bravery, asked if he wanted to be friends, to which he replied that they already were. She was unbelievably glad to hear such kind words from him. Mal, noticing her book, asked her what was in it, as literature could be something they could bond over as a shared interest. He was right in his theory that she was writing a story, but she kept its details a secret. They talked for a good long while about their favorite books and authors, 'twas the most vibrant and talkative that Mal had ever seen the girl. Their conversation was only cut short by the tavern closing up for the night, thus leaving them to continue the next day. That night, Mal slept with a fuzzy feeling in his Heart. Mazeri was such an adorable, precious girl, and he loved seeing her so happy for once. The next evening, Mazeri was once again at the tavern as normal, this time seated at the front bar to more easily talk with Mal. Business was busy on this particular night, leaving Mal fewer opportunities to speak with the lovely fruit bat. Normally, she would have left by now, but stayed behind this time as she wanted to talk more with Mal about her readings and writings. The jackal made a smart decision, requesting a break from his boss now that business was slowing down for the night. He obliged, and Mal approached Mazeri with an offer. He asked if she wished to go for a walk, away from the noisy tavern to more easily hear and understand one another. She agreed without hesitation, leaving with Mal on a walk to the Queen's Parkway. It was as if Mazeri turned into a completely new person. She was upbeat and talkative, a far cry from the typically reserved Mazeri at any other time. Being smart about their route, Mal made sure that they would end up under the Champion's Tree by the end of their walk, one of the most iconic landmarks in the entire kingdom. She had never been there before, so it was a truly breathtaking sight and atmosphere. As a slight hint of romance hung in the air, she thanked him for the trip. He could tell that she was truly relaxed, at ease for once rather than being forced to keep to herself. In a surprise twist, Mazeri asked Mal if he'd like to hear more about the story she was writing. He knew how important of a question that was, given how secretive she'd been about it up to this point. Mal nervously agreed, only if she was really okay with telling him. Her story, titled "For An Aching Soul" was about a sick girl who was cursed to a lonely life. She carried a deadly disease that she was completely immune to. Those who came close to her would likely get sick and end up dying. Thus, everyone shunned her and ran away from her, labeling her a plague and a curse. Despite everything, one man decided to change everything. He approached her when no one else would and sought friendship. Others thought him a fool with a death wish knowing that the girl's touch would spell lethal consequences. Inevitably, the two fell in love, much to the dismay of the other villagers. Later, the pair were married and even had a healthy child. For whatever reason, the curse seemed to have no effect on the man. It was unexplainable by even the best of clerics, as he should have been long dead by now. Her curse was broken. The man, undeterred by fear or any potential risks to his life, made a genuine connection with the girl when no one else would. He loved her, and was her knight in shining armor. After telling Malkonovsky the basic plot of her story, Mazeri felt embarrassed about it. She had never told anyone else her secret, but Mal was incredibly grateful that she shared her heartwarming story with him. Though, it wouldn't take a genius to spot the similarities between the girl in the book and Mazeri herself. She was a sweet girl, albeit shy, who desired friendship. She looked away, feeling fully exposed now that her secret was out. Mal knew that this was a potentially life-changing moment for both of them. He took a deep breath before telling Mazeri exactly how he felt. With a warm hand on her shoulder, Malkonovsky von Teknika, the well-spoken gentleman, told Mazeri Lantagne that he would be there for her, always. At long last, the girl broke down, unable to hold her emotions back any longer. He pulled her in for a lengthy, loving hug. Still maintaining a semblance of her distant personality, she claimed that she didn't deserve it and should be left well alone. He wouldn't take such an answer and wiped her tears away. He looked her in the eyes and told her that she mattered, she was valuable, and that she should tell her story to The Lands. He then offered her hand to walk the girl home, bringing her back down and regaining her composure.

After everything, they became a couple. Malkonovsky continued to help Mazeri crack out of her hard shell, and further encouraged her to continue writing her story. She moved out of her lonely family home and in with Mal, officially starting their lives with one another. It took her a number of years, but at long last, Mazeri's book was finished and she hoped to get it released to the public. It was a top-seller before long, with readers feeling gripped by the emotional undertone of the story and its real-life connections to people experiencing the same kind of loneliness. In a way, the story gave other people hope that loneliness wasn't forever and that love and friendship could be found when they least expect it. On a similar note, Mal proposed to Mazeri with a crystal-blue ring that he spent a fortune on. He proposed to her at the very same Champion's Tree that they first bonded under. The orange leaves were soft and lightly flowing in the wind, the stars in the sky provided the perfect backdrop to a romantic scene, and Mal made sure she felt safe. She gave him the most gracious yes he'd ever heard, and while he put the ring on her finger, she cried rivers of joy. As Mazeri was now a successful writer, continuing to create new stories and write new books, the two pondered the question of parenthood. Mal, after leaving his hometown of Oziris all those years ago, hoped to start a family of his own, so his answer was always a yes. Mazeri, on the other hand, was nervous, unsure if she would be fit to be a mother. It took much convincing and hard thinking, but eventually, they gave birth to their son, Pleiadei. Between his mother and father, he struck a middle ground. He was part jackal and part fruit bat, a unique breed. He had his mother's wings and hair, while also having hints of her cool blue spots on his face and hands. He had his father's red eyes and took the form of a jackal, albeit with a bluer fur color compared to his father. He was their only child, and, surprisingly, he took more after his mother than his father. While his father had more of an interest in fencing and marksmanship, he found more joy in reading and writing, just like his mother. She shared everything she had learned throughout her career, hoping that potentially he may surpass her in terms of writing. As a result, she frequently read with him and tutored him. He far exceeded his peers while in school, much to his parents' pride for their son. Perhaps as a mirror of his mother at that age, Pleiadei wasn't particularly savvy when it came to romance. It wasn't as if he didn't like women or anything, but he never fully knew how to pursue a serious relationship. His father told him the story of how he met his mother, proving that one could find love out of nowhere sometimes. Maybe it wasn't a case of him not liking women, but rather a case of only liking one "specific" woman. He then asked his mother what it was like being in love, before delving into more, well, spicy questions. Mazeri asked her son if there was any girl in particular he was interested in, and she got an unexpected answer. "Pleiadei, i-isn't it embarrassing to do such a-ahh...perverted act with your mother? Surely you would prefer a pretty girl your age...are you listening to me?" She never anticipated that her special son held such feelings for her and only her! Pleiadei realized the abnormality of the situation, yet pleaded with her that he only had eyes for her, "But-but I want you, ma!" Feeling a bit flattered by his words of desire, she couldn't help but blush at the thought of her son treating her like a real woman. In her mind, it was wrong, but she made absolutely no effort to sway him away. "O-oh! I see! Just-just this once I'll allow this, okay? And absolutely no cumming inside!" However, her true desires betrayed her, as she wanted him to become more rough and finish what he started , thinking to herself, "Please cum in me please cum in me please cum in me please cum in me please cum in meeeee..." 'Twas so unbecoming of a man to treat his mother in such a perverted manner! It would be a shame if his father found out, after all. Would he be upset? If anything, he'd be upset that his son didn't give him grandchildren far earlier. But who knows, maybe he'll get his wish.
