Biggest indicator is the nonsensical wing anatomy. I doubt this artist has seen a dragon before AI-generating one to notice the abnormal digit placements, the lack of the right wing, or the random roses (edit: they are all the same, but their placement is still odd on the wing). The dewclaws as well are unusually placed on the same side of each foot, rather than opposing. The head shape is confusing and chaotic, having remarkable detail but lacking sense in where the horns come from.

These could just be honest beginner mistakes, but the level of skill required to have smoothly hand-drawn curves for a reference-free character debut, juxtaposed with the lack of anatomical knowledge or a sufficiently detailed background to compliment the subject, makes me doubt many things about this artist.

I am not sure whether to be amused or feel upset an art piece I spent the better of twenty hours creating is considered AI.

Yes, I’ve never drawn a dragon before, so I apologize if the anatomy is clearly wrong or doesn’t represent how a dragon is suposed to look like. This piece was a giant puzzle for me to get right, and in the end I’m super proud how it came out, even if it looks chaotic or anatomically like a mess.

By the way, this was in no way, made reference free. Even though the art in my FA banner of Amalynth is indeed AI, I have multiple art pieces of her in my personal gallery that I used as reference material.

Moreover, I stream all of my art endeavors live in my server, such as this art, from beginning to end. There are multiple people that can vouch for me if needed.

All the anatomical mistakes are simply that: me being a rookie, trying to learn and improve.
