Obviously no Taichi, since he always knew what's important (other than having a little misunderstanding between being brave and reckless). Is it crybaby, who earned a courage? A young brother obsessed possessive quiet guy, who had to understand that friendship is about sharing? Maybe a socially awkward introverted nerd, who opened up, despite having a trauma (not sure if I should call it that) about his family? Or the selfish, self-centered girl, who understood that beauty is not about her? The responsibility obsessed stiff "mature" kid, who couldn't chill out and take anything lightly? Or the girl, that at first didn't seem like she had any troubles, but was deeply concerned about what her mother wants her to become, which caused her to think she can't understand love?
Also Hikari doesn't have any development either, since she was introduced too late, so there was no time for her to get any major change. Though we can say she is a little too selfless, but that didn't change at all. She also wasn't a crybaby like Takeru, so she didn't have fear to overcome like him. I think Yamato could be the answer. Since, he was always so quiet, never talking about his emotions, but at the same time was very loud when arguing about the goals and priorities (with Taichi). He had a very long journey ahead of him before he understand that Takeru is not a kid anymore and that Taichi isn't stealing his brother, but is his best friend that is deeply concerned about their friends too. Though, given that he was Taichi's rival, it makes sense. Taichi, who, at first glance, looks like doesn't care about anything, was actually just very straightforward. So his rival was the exact opposite and that's what made them argue so much, but also that's what made them become friends that deeply. I remember when they argued and Jyou tried to stop them and they both were mad at him that he is undecided. But Taichi and Yamato cared abot each other's opinions so much that they always clashed, nobody else had that much impact on them both. Maybe other than their siblings, haha. Even their digimons weren't really that much influence to their change. Agumon always just did what Taichi asked to, even if this sounded ridiculous (like overeating to force the evolution), so did Gabumon, that said that "whatever you decide, I will be there for you". Other digimons had direct influence on their partners. Like how childish Piyomon was and Sora was not taking her seriously or all the Gomamon's teasing. Palmon tried to help Mimi, especially on that one episode, when she became a princess. I also think Tailmon and Patamon were pretty okay with whatever their partners said. Other than that one time when Takeru argued with Patamon and he flew off.
I love this series so much and all thanks to how their relationship and bond with their digimons changed them so much and how much different they all were from each other. And that's really hard to achieve. Seven kids and seven digimons, all with distinct personality, all having a need to overcome their fears and lies to become better people. Then eight one appeared too. That's why I will always love Digimon Adventure so much.
