    They are one of the few mammals that is able to be very inbred and not seem to manifest genetic abnormalities, and that is luck, because almost all the danger comes from latent genetics defects coming to the surface, but if there aren't any then most of the danger is gone.

    Cheetahs are inbred due to a population collapse some 12,000 years ago, that resulted in a very breeding population and a lack of genetic diversity.
