[Reuploaded a third time because the high res kinda broke it for folks. I apologize to the e6 staff x-x ]

after a long, long time, it's finally complete TvT

what was originally a "short loop" manifested into another pretty ridiculous project. It had a lot of moving parts (and the wings especially, absolutely kicked my ass), but I'm extremely happy with it

    Yeah, previous 10x upscale was kinda overkill.

    Generally with pixel artwork, aim for scaling that's divisible by 2, this is because codecs love that shit and additionally chroma subsampling will half the dimensions of color (aka chroma), so when it's divisible by 2 it's much easier to compress and you do not get that much color bleed. So 2x, 4x, 8x, etc.
    (if using ffmpeg, -sws_flags 'neighbor+accurate_rnd+full_chroma_int' to force chroma downscaling also to use nearest neighbor for even higher quality and even lower filesizes)
    After that just aim for around widespread resolution so anything between 1080p and 4K is usually great and the pixels should look sharp for everyone, you can't really fine tune end users playback resolution but that's the best you can do.

    you'd think that would have changed when switching to something as basic as pixel art, but apparently not
